Description du poste

Cocoa Capital Ltd is part of a multinational group which is active in the food industry, in particular the production and trade of confectionery, bakeries, chocolate, oils and chewing gums.

The core responsibility of the Chief Investment Officer is to lead Cocoa Capital Ltd growth and diversification objectives by investing in Private Equity and VC companies in the realm of food as well as asset leasing and commodity trading.

Investment knowledge

  • Creating effective and efficient investment processes
  • Determine investment strategies in line with the group’s objectives with a focus on FMCG
  • Evaluate potential investment opportunities and make recommendations based on that evaluation, ensuring it is in line with the group’s investment strategies
  • Developing and executing the group Business Unit strategies, work on their business plan and generate business growth
  • Deep knowledge of Vision 2030 and National Transformation Programs in Saudi Arabia and align Cocoa Capital Ltd's strategies with the Vision 2030
  • Understanding the market and monitoring the market for information and creative trends to keep abreast with the local and global competition
  • Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending investments for organic growth

 Allocate Assets

  • Decide the allocation between Cocoa Capital Ltd’s business lines and how much money each department and project within their organization will receive
  • Utilize risk management models, analyze budgetary limits and predict how much money will be required to meet certain goals and complete certain projects with as much accuracy as possible
  • Have a knowledge in commodity trading and working capital financing

Strategic

  • Along with the group CEO, develop the annual investment goals/targets.
  • Contribute to the overall process of corporate management and decision-making to ensure project maximizes its short-, medium-, and long- term financial targets.

Business Insight

  • Deep knowledge of the FMCG
  • Think ahead and conduct studies and analysis to identify long term opportunities and threats.
  • Create new concepts to explain situations or solve problems.

Financial Advice

  • Make calculated investment decisions to deliver a sustained organization performance.
  • Commit significant resources and/or time to increase benefits such as improving performance, reaching a challenging goal, etc
  • Create multiple contingency plans to minimize risks to the business in the long term

 Impact and Influence

  • Build coalitions both internally and externally, drawing on a broad and diverse range of senior stakeholders
  • Work closely with the group CEO and COO on designing and implementing the board of directors initiatives focusing developing growth and investment venues
  • Work closely with the group COO on identifying the group commodity needs and planning and effectively source and trade those commodities
  • Work closely with the group CEO on various corporate strategic finance and strategy formulations for CAPEX requirement
  • In conjunction with business group and corporate M&A partners, support execution of large M&A projects

Developing Others

  • Take an active on-going interest in the long-term career development aims of individuals.
  • Take a key role in systematizing learning and development.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in investing in Europe and the Middle East, Strategic Planning, M&A, JV and acquiring new business.
  • Audit/Consulting analysis of strategic planning, corporate finance and risk management models and tools, contemporary management thinking/innovations.
  • Deep knowledge of Vision 2030 and National Transformation Programs in Saudi Arabia.
  • Advance knowledge in the FMCG  industry.  
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English; French a plus.
